What is an AI agent?
We built an interactive visual explainer for AI agents and agentic systems. It shows how a single agent works, how a team of agents shares a task, and why the right-sized team beats an oversized one.
We are a research & development team at the University of Oulu exploring the frontier of generative AI. Based in northern Finland, we combine theoretical research with hands-on development, building exploratory prototypes that push the boundaries of what's possible with large language models. Our work focuses on natural language processing, local AI models, and responsible AI development.
As part of the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, we collaborate across disciplines and the AIC Smart Campus Lab Lounge to build innovative solutions at the cutting edge of generative AI. We are committed to creating an AI community of practice that supports and scales AI adoption across faculty's research, education, and administration.

A practical and informative checklist to help with setting up AI-assisted development environments.
We tested Superpowers, a “skills”-based prompt framework for agentic coding.
Our first issue explores the highlights of GenAI research from 2025. To celebrate the launch of the newsletter, we are releasing this collection as a series of articles over the coming weeks.
